day 16

Fest Bock

Origin: Brauerei Schloss Eggenberg (Vorchdorf, Austria)

Style: Bock

ABV: 7.1%

Notes: Another bock brewed for festivities. The Austrians sure like to party. Schloss Eggenberg’s version is a seasonal offering made only available during Christmas and Easter holidays.

So far, we’ve had beer brewed in a brewing commune, in a windmill, and in a cellar with carbon dioxide level so high that it could kill.

Now we can add one more unusual location: Schloss Eggenberg has been producing beer inside a castle since 1681.

Let me leave you with a special treat – a performance of Abba’s “Fernando,” played on 300+ Schloss Eggenberger beer bottles. (“Tuning” the “instruments” must be just as rewarding as the performance itself.)
